How to add a server in Minecraft Bedrock (PC, Android, iPhone)
Where to type a server's address and port in Minecraft Bedrock on Windows PC, Android and iPhone. And the mistakes that stop you from connecting.

On PC, Android and iPhone, adding a server takes thirty seconds: you need its address and its port. On console it works differently, more on that at the end.
The steps
- Open Minecraft and tap Play.
- Go to the Servers tab.
- Scroll past the partner servers and tap Add Server.
- Fill in the three fields:
- Server Name: whatever you like, it's just for you;
- Server Address: the address the server gives you, for example
play.linesia.net; - Port: usually
19132, unless the server gives another one.
- Save. The server shows up in your list, with the number of players online. Tap it to join.
Next time, it'll still be there in the Servers tab.
The mistakes we see all the time
The port typed in the address field. On Java, people often write address:port. On Bedrock, each has its own field. Type the address on its own, without :19132 at the end.
An extra space. One space at the end of the address, invisible on screen, is enough to break the connection. Phone keyboards often add one after a copy-paste.
A server's Java address. Some servers have two addresses, one for Java and one for Bedrock. Make sure you take the Bedrock one.
The wrong game on PC. On a computer, the Minecraft Launcher holds both Java and Bedrock. The right one is called Minecraft for Windows. If you see a "Multiplayer" button instead of a "Servers" tab, you're on Java.
On your phone, even easier
Some servers give you a link that opens Minecraft and adds the server for you. For Linesia, open the join page on your phone and tap Add the server in 1 tap.
If Minecraft doesn't open, it's often because the page is open in an app's built-in browser (TikTok, Instagram, Discord). Open it in your real browser, Chrome or Safari.

What about consoles?
On Xbox, PlayStation and Switch, the Add Server button doesn't exist. You go through an account to add as a friend, or a DNS trick. We have a guide for each console:
Frequently asked questions
What is port 19132?
It's the default port for Minecraft Bedrock servers. Minecraft fills it in for you when you add a server. Only change it if the server gives you a different one.
Why does the server keep saying "Locating server"?
The game can't reach the address. Check the spelling, remove any spaces, and try another network (mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, for example). Some school or work networks block Minecraft.
Can I join a Bedrock server from Minecraft Java?
No, unless the server runs a bridge between the two versions. On most Bedrock servers, Linesia included, you need the Bedrock version.
